Goals
To measure the photolysis rate constant of organic nitrates formed from OH radical oxidation of a-pinene and study their photolysis degradation mechanism.
Summary
SOA (including organic nitrates) was formed by photooxidation of 3 ppm a-pinene in the presence of 9 ppm H2O2 and 500 (+ 10 min-1) ppb NO Chamber (Near) and was collected on Teflon filter. Heated zero air was flown through the filter to vaporize SOA to introduce gaseous organic nitrates into Chamber (Far). 10 ppm cyclohexane was also injected to suppress OH radical oxidation during photolysis reaction. Photolysis of the gaseous organic nitrates was investigated via UV irradiation. Duplicate-1.Experiment Details
