Sensitivity to temperature value unknown. Correction method is built into instrument (since the density of the sample gas affects brightness of chemiluminescence reaction). Temperature cell is maintained at 50C.

Instrument is sensitive to humidity changes. A dryer for supply air is recommended to compensate for this. For chamber experiments, humidity is kept at a constant value so no dryer is used and no corrections are made.

Monitor calculated the amount of NO present by measuring the amount of chemiluminescence given off when the sample gas is exposed to ozone (O3). A catalytic-reactive converter converts any NO2 in the sample gas to NO, which is then measured as above (including the original NO in the sample gas) and reported as NOx. NO2 is calculated as the difference between NOX and NO.
Data analysis method:
Calibrated with NO and NO2 gas cylinder standards, with flow rates and concentrations controlled by a mass flow controller and mixing with a zero air stream.
