Instrument - Filter Inlet for Gases and Aerosols

Short name:
FIGAERO

Full name:
Filter Inlet for Gases and Aerosols

What is being measured:
Particle phase oxidized VOCs

Sampling Protocol:
Online

Manufacturer:
Aerodyne

Model:
1

Instrument year :
2016

Data recording software:
TOFDAQ

Data analysis software:
Igor Pro v6

Raw data time resolution:
1 hour

Analysis data averaging:

Detection limit:
Species dependent

Sensitivity to temperature (and correction method, if applicable): :
Same as for I- CIMS

Sensitivity to relative humidity (and correction method, if applicable): :
Same as for I- CIMS

Sampling method:
Particles collected onto Teflon filter

Sample preparation method:

Sample residence time (chamber to instrument) (seconds):

Length of tubing (cm):

Instrument flow rate:
3 lpm

Tubing inner diameter:
1/4 inch

Tubing material:
Stainless Steel

Chemical identification method:
UHP N2 is passed over the filter containining the collected aerosol. The N2 gas is passed at a temperature-programmed ramp (from 25C to 200C) causing particles to volatilize and then be detected within the CIMS as vapor phase compounds. The I- ionization mechanism and following detection steps are the same as for I- CIMS instrument.
