Light Flux Characterization #26 - 2018-10-30

ID:
26

Name:
k1 Method

Instrument ID:
Teledyne NOx Monitor (#420)

Chamber:
Far Bag 2017

Date of characterization experiment:
2018-10-30

Months since calibration:
0.5

Measurement technique:
This used the k1 method that is used by UCR -- we used their quartz k1 tube and the procedure outlined in Zafonte et. al., 1977 (doi: 10.1021/es60128a006).

Photolysis frequency of NO2 with max lighting [Hz]:
0.00619

Photolysis frequency of H2O2 with max lighting [Hz]:

Photolysis frequency of O3 with max lighting [Hz]:

Total number of lights:
10

Light percentage on:
100

Light intensity:

Light source type:
Ultraviolet broadband lights centered around 350 nm

Position and pattern of lights:
Surrounding the chamber

Data collection description:
Quartz tube hanging halfway between the floor and the ceiling in between the two bags (when the bags are fairly depleted), perpendicular to the wall with the door. NO2 flow of 3 ccm and N2 dilution flow of 2 Lpm.

Data analysis description:
Using the method in Zafonte et al, 1977 (doi: 0.1021/es60128a006)

Additional notes:
Dark average 5:09pm to 5:12pm, all lights on at 5:12:30pm. All lights on to average from 5:18pm to 5:22:30pm. Lights 1-4 on at 5:23pm, only light 1 (10% lights) on at 5:26pm. 10% lights average from 5:32pm to 5:34pm. Dark average from 5:55pm to 6:00pm. All lights on again from 6:00pm. All lights on to average from 6:06pm to 6:12pm. 10% average from 6:16pm to 6:21pm.
