Experiment

Name: Ziemann_20160719_resorcinol/Nitric oxide/Methyl nitrite_Hydroxyl radical_Dioctyl Sebacate_Resorcinol + OH/NOx_TPTD
Date: 2016-07-19

Organization
Ziemann

Chamber
Janet (Chamber 1)

Experiment Set
Resorcinol

Goals
Conduct a temperature programmed thermal desorption of resorcinol + OH/NOx in order to better attribute signals to individual compounds, determine volatility information of the SOA.

Summary
400 ppb of resorcinol was added as 2 ppm of CH3ONO, NO was photolyzed to generate OH radicals. Temperature programmed thermal desorption was performed after photo-oxidation.

Experiment Set Details

Name: Resorcinol
Time format and units:
Description:
Identifying gas-phase and particle-phase products and secondary organic aerosol yields of reactions of 1,3-benzenediol (resorcinol). Goals were to determine the impact of isomers on chemistry (compared to that of catechol) and effects in wildfires. Additionally, to determine method of investigating semi-volatile compounds that would otherwise partition entirely to chamber walls.
